2 Million FSN Open Source Campaign — Progress Report November 12

Fusion kicked off its exciting ‘2 Million FSN campaign’ on Wednesday the 16th of October. The campaign is inclusive and open to anyone who wants to earn some FSN

A) Reward Distributions for Fast Growing Open Source Community
Fusion Foundation has received 416 applications (at time of writing) from all over the world!

B) Progress report on the first batch of tasks!
From the first batch of tasks released to the open source community on October 31, we have exciting progress to share on three of the relevant tasks where great progress has been made!

C) 3 Proactive Community Campaigns Get Off to Flying Start!
Chinese representatives of the Fusion Open Source Community proactively and creatively proposed 3 additional Tasks which were approved by the team. Exciting progress has been made on these community inspired endeavours.

D) New Task Release #6 — Create a High Quality Time-Lock Article
Fusion is excited to introduce a new task geared towards content creators! The task involves creating a high quality time-lock explainer article.

A) Reward Distributions for Fast Growing Open Source Community

At time of writing, the Fusion Foundation has distributed rewards to 250 successful applicants, culminating in 625,600 FSN tokens time-locked for three months.

For those that have completed the application but have not received their reward, please contact @TylerL11 on Telegram who can help you complete the registration step-by-step.

Submission Stats!

The distribution of the 416 applications based on reported skills is as follows:

  1. Content creator (content writing, editing, online documentation) — 53 submissions received.
  2. Designer (UI, logo, poster, video, promotional materials) 87 submissions received.
  3. Developer (app, web, backend, etc. code development, testing, release) 122 submissions received.
  4. Researcher (research sharing technology content) 33 submissions received.
  5. Early Adopter (FN public chain and application depth of use and creativity, etc.) 5 submissions received.
  6. Translator (content translation) 38 submissions received.
  7. Operation and maintenance management (website, server, publishing, etc.) 16 submissions received.
  8. Community Ambassador (activity organization, service support, communication and communication) 62 submissions received.

As you can see plainly, the numbers continue to grow rapidly compared with the 239 applications that were reported just 2 weeks ago.

B) Progress report on the first batch of tasks!

Task 1: Community logo design

More than 15 people have registered for the logo design competition however not all have submitted their designs. Participants have util November 14, 2019 to be eligible to win the prize.

Task 2: Document Translation

Members of the Chinese Community formed a team to tackle the translation of 12 articles from English to Chinese!

  1. @alpha7b will translate the articles into Chinese, ‘How to extract time value from FSN tokens’ and ‘Distributed Private Key Fragments’
  2. @shiyaowen2 will translate the articles into Chinese, ‘Fusion’s DCRM Open-Source Technology Explained Part One’ and ‘Fusion’s DCRM Open-Source Technology Explained Part Two’.
  3. @Yiixun will translate the articles into Chinese, ‘USAN: Short Account Addresses,’ ‘Time Locked Use Case 1 — Lending’ and ‘Time Locked Use Case 2 — Bank Acceptance’.
  4. @shumu will translate the articles into Chinese, ‘LILO Function Explained’ and ‘Fusion Wallet Interface Documentation’
  5. @KenianShi will translate the articles into Chinese, ‘Fusion Time-Lock Function’; ‘Time-Lock Innovation Extended” and ‘JSON RPC Interface”.

A total of 12 documents will be translated by the above mentioned community members. So far 2 translated documents havre already been submitted to the Fusion team.

Task 3: SDK Development

Four participants have registered to participate in the SDK development bounty.

Information will be shared on progress of tasks 4 ‘Develop a Mobile Wallet’ and task 5 ‘Develop a DCRM App’ when relevant.

C) 3 Proactive Community Campaigns Get Off to Flying Start!

1. The first task proposed by the China community and subsequently approved by the Foundation, was to create a webpage for the Fusion Open Source Community (FOSC). The webpage is to serve as a ‘task board’ to share new campaigns, a place to display a leaderboard of who has earned the most rewards and a place to view the latest contributions.

2. Chinese community members registered l to build a new Fusion Block Explorer! Here are the early stage designs!

The task will be tackled by the following participants: @nycat,@vistwang

Because this is a very new team, no designs or code are available to be shared at this early stage.

3. Community member, @winter520, proposed the idea of creating a WeChat application called the ‘red envelop’ that allows the Foundation and users to distribute rewards directly on WeChat and with an accompanying celebratory image. 16 red envelopes have already been distributed on WeChat by community members!

D) New Task Release #6 — Create a High Quality Time-Lock Article

Requirements:

1) Write in English an explainer article about Fusion’s time-lock function with particular focus on 1. what is a time-lock reward? and 2. How to extract value from a time-lock reward.

2) The article should include links to the existing collateral that has been published by Fusion on time-lock.

3) Article must include a simple graphic that serves as a visual aid to help explain how time-lock works.

4) Article should distinguish between a ‘front-end time-lock’ and ‘back-end time-lock’. Feel free to propose alternative terminology that you think captures the nuances of time-lock with greater simplicity.

5) Explore what can be done with a ‘front-end time-locks’ as opposed to what can be done with a ‘back-end time-locks’.

Timing: Article must be submitted by November 31, 2019.

Voting: After all designs are submitted the foundation will issue voting tokens to the community. The winning artile will be selected via a community vote!

The voting period will be from Dec 1, 2019 until the end of December 4, 24:00 Shanghai time.

Rewards:

First place — 30,000 FSN time-locked for 3 months.

Second place — 10,000 FSN time-locked for 3 months.
