Fusion Gaining Steam: Leading Blockchain Code Reviewer, Author of CryptoBriefing, Andre Cronje Joins Leadership Team
The Fusion Foundation is pleased to announce that Andre Cronje has joined Fusion as the Head of Innovation and Technology. Andre will lead all of Fusion’s solution initiatives around Dapps, tech partnerships and implementations. He will be joining the executive team and will provide thought leadership that will help to direct our strategic thinking and roadmap going forward. Andre is a highly respected contributor and author at Cryptobriefing as well as an advisor to several Blockchain initiatives. Previously, Andre has served as a technology leader and CTO in various firms in the P2P, fintech, machine learning and payment space, as well as lecturing at the Computer Training Institute in South Africa.
Andre Cronje — Bio
Andre is a well-recognized software professional based in Cape Town, South Africa, with over 12 years of experience in various software related endeavors and of late an intense involvement in Blockchain. Originally a law student at Stellenbosch University, Andre transitioned to software in 2005 with the CTI Education Group studying computer science and quickly became a lecturer there.
He then became a Technical Team Leader at Vodacom where for over 2 years he built out the telecommunications infrastructure in African countries.
In 2009 Andre was taken onboard by IMPI (the International Mobile Protection Initiative) as CTO, where he engineered mobile cryptography & security focused solutions. He then later served as CTO at Mobile Game Card Applications, Mobile Development manager at Altron, Software Architect at Full Facing (Pty) Ltd.
In 2013 Andre joined the Shoprite Group as Head of Technology where for over 3 years he oversaw development of Shoprite’s Big Data initiative for their financial systems, building out their lending, insurance, and retail platforms. Andre was further involved with financial services tech innovation at Freedom, a FinTech organisation focused on p2p lending and insurance solutions where he served as Head of Technology until very recently.
In the Blockchain space Andre served as a Blockchain Protocol Adviser at BitDiem, as a Blockchain Infrastructure Engineer at Crytpocurve, a Technology Analyst at Lemniscap, and as Chief Crypto Code reviewer at CryptoBriefing, where several dozens of project code reviews (including some very prominent ones) of his are posted.
Andre speaks Afrikaans, Dutch, German, Latin and English. He has a Mobile Game Cards patent under his name, is currently studying Korean and is an avid weightlifter.
